[Saba Sports News] The Rohit Sharma-led Indian team put up a blockbuster show against Babar Azam’s Pakistan on Saturday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The Indian bowlers restricted Pakistan to a total of 191 runs, taking all 10 wickets in 42.5 overs in the 12th match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
While chasing, Rohit tore the ball apart with his brutal hitting. The Indian skipper accumulated 86 runs off 63 balls, which included six fours and as many powerful sixes. Unfortunately, on a slower delivery of Pakistan pacer Shaheen Shah Afridi, he threw away his wicket and missed out on his eighth ODI World Cup century.
Nevertheless, the Men in Blue chased down the target in just 30.3 overs.
During the match, a clip went viral in which Rohit was seen showing his biceps to umpire Marais Erasmus. Netizens were speculating about the conversation that happened between the two. After the match, Hardik Pandya, on the microphone, interacted with Rohit and asked him about that particular chat with the umpire.
“Nothing much, they asked me how do you hit such long sixes. What is there in the bat, you must be having something. But I said no it is all in the muscles (laughs),” Rohit shared in the video released on BCCI’s official website.
India will play their next game against Bangladesh on 19th October in Pune. They currently occupy the first position in the points table, having won all of their three fixtures.
