[Saba Sports News] Dillon Brooks wasted no time showcasing his aggressive defensive style in his debut for the Houston Rockets.
During the team’s first preseason game on Tuesday night, Brooks went too far and was ejected. This incident occurred during a defensive play involving Pacers’ big man Daniel Theis. While trying to defend against
Theis, Brooks went overboard and made contact below the belt, resulting in a flagrant penalty 2 and an automatic ejection. Brooks played only five minutes in the preseason game and did not score.
Notably, Brooks has a history of such incidents, finishing second in the NBA last season with 18 technical fouls, trailing only Draymond Green with 21. This ejection marked the sixth of his NBA career.
Despite this, Brooks signed a significant 4-year contract during the offseason as part of a sign-and-trade deal that brought him to the Rockets.
Houston is relying on the newly-acquired veterans, Brooks and Fred VanVleet, to play a crucial role in the team’s ongoing rebuilding efforts.
