[Saba Sports News] The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is planning to organize an Indo-Pak pre-match opening ceremony at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This decision comes after fans expressed their disappointment to the BCCI for not organizing a ceremony before the opening match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. India is set to face Pakistan on 14th October in Ahmedabad.
According to Dainik Jagran, renowned Bollywood singer Arijit Singh has been roped in for the pre-match concert to entertain over a lakh people at the biggest cricket stadium in the world.
BCCI has also arranged a colorful program for a grand ceremony, and the match will be attended by some prominent guests such as Mr. Amit Shah (Home Minister of India), legendary Indian cricketer Sachin Tendulkar, alongside actors Amitabh Bachchan and Rajnikanth.
Reportedly, the ceremony will take place around 12:30 PM IST, an hour before the toss, and the first ball of the match will be delivered at 2:00 IST PM sharp.
Notably, it had surfaced online that the BCCI will conduct a ceremony before the first match of the 2023 World Cup between England and New Zealand and had also approached artists like Asha Bhosle, Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, Ranveer Singh and Tamannaah Bhatia for the event. However, these reports were untrue.
