[Saba Sports News] Australia middle-order batter Marnus Labuschagne praised India captain Rohit Sharma and his temperament.
Rohit received praise from Labuschagne for his batting style and run-making technique. Rohit, who will lead India in the nearing ICC event, has a good record in the ODI World Cups, having scored six centuries in 17 matches, amassing 978 runs with an average of 65.20.
He is all set to play his third ODI World Cup for India, starting from 5th October. Rohit played a healthy innings of 81 runs in the recently-concluded third ODI versus Australia at Rajkot. Labuschagne acknowledged that once Rohit is set, it’s difficult to get him out.
“Rohit Sharma is someone who scored quite freely without taking any risks. He’s very hard to stop once get going. As I said to Rohit out there when we were walking. I said ‘I am watching whatever you do, I want to learn. You guys are the best in these conditions’. We are foreign to these conditions. You learn from the opposition, you learn from the way they do it. We try and learn and grow with each game,” said Labuschagne while speaking to Fox Cricket.
As Rohit will open for India in the upcoming World Cup, it will be upon him to provide good starts to the team in the batting-friendly conditions. He has found form at the right time and would want to replicate 2019-esque World Cup, where he scored as many as five hundreds.
