[Saba Sports News] Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook engaged in a heated altercation with a heckler during a game against the Denver Nuggets. The incident occurred late in the fourth quarter at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, as the Clippers were heading towards a 113-104 loss to a Nikola Jokic-less Nuggets team.
Westbrook, seen responding to a fan taunting him near courtside, addressed the incident post-game. The 9-time All-Star expressed that the fan had overstepped a boundary he could no longer tolerate, especially now that his son is old enough to understand such situations.
Westbrook emphasized his stance against such behavior, saying, “The moment that line gets crossed, I won’t allow it no more. I stood for it for years. Now that my son is old enough to know what’s going on… Now I gotta stand on it.”
This isn’t Westbrook’s first encounter with fans. He previously confronted a Phoenix Suns fan during the last postseason and attempted to have a Memphis Grizzlies fan ejected in March. The latest incident adds to Westbrook’s history of contentious interactions with spectators. He ended the game with 14 points and 11 rebounds.
