[Saba Sports News] Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, recuperating from a serious car crash in December 2022, has made notable strides in his recovery. He recently appeared at the Delhi Capitals’ Kolkata camp but is not yet resuming training for the upcoming season. Sourav Ganguly, the Director of Cricket for Delhi Capitals, updated that Pant is in good shape and confirmed his participation for the next IPL season.
Pant, who is the captain of the Delhi Capitals, discussed team strategies ahead of the player auctions, despite not practicing currently. Walking without discomfort or the need for knee supports at the camp, Pant is anticipated to make an early return to cricket next year, potentially during the home Test series against England starting January 2024.
Pant’s presence was also noted at the Lord Balaji Temple with fellow cricketer Axar Patel. Meanwhile, Delhi Capitals have initiated their pre-season training five months in advance, with a few players beginning workouts at the Jadavpur University campus in Kolkata.
After a disappointing 2023 season, finishing ninth with only five wins, Delhi Capitals look to revitalize their performance with Pant’s comeback as the captain for the next season.
