Indian domestic cricketer Musheer Khan, brother of Sarfaraz Khan, was involved in a car accident while traveling to join Mumbai’s squad for the Irani Cup.
He and his father were en route from Azamgarh to Lucknow when their car hit a divider and overturned several times, resulting in Musheer suffering a neck fracture.
Musheer has been sidelined for several months due to his injuries. In his first public statement after the accident, Musheer expressed gratitude for the support he received.
“First of all, I would like to thank Allah for this new life. I am fine now, and my father is also fine. Thank you all for your prayers,” Musheer said in a video posted on Instagram, where he was seen wearing a neck brace.
His father, Naushad Khan, also thanked everyone who prayed for them. Musheer had been selected for India A’s squad for an upcoming tour of Australia, following his impressive performance in the Duleep Trophy, where he scored 181 runs.
He is currently in Medanta hospital, Lucknow, and will undergo further evaluation in Mumbai. The MCA has yet to announce his replacement for the Irani Cup squad.
