Pakistan send Mir Hamza to rehab after injury.
There was a niggle in the 32-year-old’s right glute. He was spotted on Tuesday performing band rehabilitation exercises with the Pakistan team physiotherapist, despite not training or bowling during any of Pakistan’s sessions before to the third Test.
The teams for the first and final Test matches included the left-arm pacer. But, did not make it to the playing XI throughout the series. The second Bangladesh Test at Rawalpindi was his most recent appearance for Pakistan. At an average of 42.08, he has taken 12 wickets in as many innings.
Pakistan adjusted the conditions to suit their spinners, playing three fast bowlers (Naseem Shah, Shaheen Afridi, and Aamir Jamal) before fielding three specialist spinners and one pacer (Jamal). Before the injury prevented him from playing in the last Test of the series, Jamal’s superior batting skills over the other speedier players in the team knocked Hamza out of the running.
