France leave out Kylian Mbappe out of the side in upcoming games in what is termed to be a “one-off” decision.
France have not named Real Madrid forward Kylian Mbappé to face Israel and Italy in Nations League games.
Deschamps would not specify whether Mbappé, who played for his club in Tuesday’s 3-1 Champions League loss to Milan, was hurt, claiming his decision was a “one-time decision” and that the player “wanted to come” and join the team.
The 25-year-old Mbappé, who has struggled for form since leaving Paris St-Germain in the offseason, missed two France games last month, against Israel and Belgium.
“I’ve had discussions with him, it is a decision that I took for this block of matches only,” Deschamps told a press conference. “Kylian wanted to come.”
France, who are second in Group A2 and one point behind Italy after four games, will face Israel at the Stade de France next Thursday before travelling to Italy on November 17.
