Mo Salah still in the dark about Liverpool future as contract runs out in the summer and no new offer put forth by the club.
Mo Salah confirms that Liverpool have yet to offer him a new contract with just over 6 months left on his current deal.
The Liverpool talisman was a crucial factor in securing a comeback 3-2 win over Southampton as they extend their lead at the top to 8 points.
However, the Egypt international has now revealed that the club has still not had any sort of communication with him over a new contract, leaving him “disappointed” at the current situation.
Speaking to the reporters after the game, Salah iterated. “We are almost in December and I haven’t received any offers yet to stay in the club.
“I’m probably more out than in.”
Asked if he was disappointed that he is yet to receive an offer, Salah said: “Of course, yeah.
“I’m not going to retire soon so I’m just playing. Focusing on the season and I’m trying to win the Premier League and hopefully the Champions League as well. I’m disappointed but we will see.”
The Egyptian has been Liverpool’s top goal-scorer this season, finding the net 12 times in all competitions this season.
Salah signed a three-year contract extension with the club in 2022, with that deal set to expire in the summer.
“You know I have been in the club for many years. There is no club like this,” said Salah.
“I love the fans. The fans love me. In the end it is not in my hands or the fans’ hands. Let’s wait and see.”
Salah rarely speaks to reporters before boarding the coach, but this time he did so with full knowledge of the questions that will be posed.
Mo Salah uses his comments as a means of expressing to the public how frustrated he is with Liverpool’s slow response to the problem.
Salah believes he has a lot of time left to remain at the top of the game in Europe. This is as seen by his tenacity in the beginning of the season. His excellent physical condition, and consequently his desire to pressure Liverpool. The data clearly points to his correctness.
