
Tuchel set to kick off England career with Spurs vs Newcastle United visit as he will visit St George’s to meet Lee Carsley.
Tuchel set to attend his first match as England’s head coach on Saturday lunchtime when Tottenham host Newcastle.
The 51-year-old German, whose contract began on New Year’s Day, will accompany his assistant, Anthony Barry, to further Premier League games this weekend.
He will get the chance to meet Lewis Hall, Anthony Gordon, Dominic Solanke, and James Maddison at the Spurs game. Next week, Tuchel and his support staff are scheduled to make their first visit to the training facility at St George’s Park.
Tuchel and his team will primarily work from the complex in Staffordshire, and they intend to meet with pertinent staff members for introductory sessions the following week.
Lee Carsley, who temporarily oversaw England through the autumn Nations League games, has expressed his desire to speak with Tuchel. Ashley Cole, who assisted Carsley with the senior squad, has also returned to his position with the under-21s.
This week marks the beginning of work for other members of Tuchel’s support staff. They consist of Henrique Hilário, the goalkeeping coach who has been with Chelsea since 2016. The performance coach will be Nicolas Mayer, who worked with Tuchel at Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich. Tuchel is also reuniting with analyst James Melbourne, whom he met at Chelsea.
Tuchel’s first matches in charge will be the World Cup qualifiers against Albania on 21 March and Latvia on 24 March
