Celtic avoid ban on fans for game at Bayern Munich.
For the Champions League play-off second leg against Bayern Munich, Celtic has managed to keep its fans from being banned.
After a smoke bomb was thrown onto the pitch during the match against Aston Villa on 29 January, European football’s regulatory body Uefa issued the Scottish champions another disciplinary notice.
Because Celtic used fireworks during their October match against Borussia Dortmund, they were barred from selling tickets to away fans for two years.
However, a Uefa control, ethics, and disciplinary committee has decided to impose a €10,000 (£8,400) punishment for the throwing of pyrotechnics, with no further penalties, while the suspended ban is still in effect.
Before a decision was made, Celtic had cautioned supporters about the dangers of booking travel for the match in Munich.
On February 12, Bayern will go to Celtic Park for the first leg of their play-off match. Six days later, they will return to Germany.
