Popular game Football Manager 2025 has been cancelled much to the chagrin of its massive audience waiting for its release.
Popular game Football Manager 2025, which was eagerly awaited by the millions of its players across the globe, has been cancelled.
The producers of FM25 are focussing on upcoming titles, with the next release typically scheduled for November, after Sports Interactive (SI) stated that the game had been shelved. After several technical issues, SI, which is owned by the gaming corporation Sega, apologised to fans for its “difficult decision” to terminate the game.
“We know this will come as a huge disappointment, especially given that the release date has already moved twice, and [fans] have been eagerly anticipating the first gameplay reveal,” a statement said.
They said: “While many areas of the game have hit our targets, the overarching player experience and interface is not where we need it to be. We could have pressed on, released FM25 in its current state, and fixed things down the line – but that’s not the right thing to do. We were also unwilling to go beyond a March release as it would be too late in the football season to expect players to then buy another game later in the year.”
SI stated that it will provide fans who purchased FM25 complete refunds, but it will not update the 2024 edition of the game with the 2025 squad and transfer details.
