Bosch replaces Nortje in the 15-man South Africa squad for the Champions Trophy. Kwena Maphaka, meanwhile, has been added to the side as a travelling reserve.
30-year-old Bosch made his ODI debut against Pakistan in December, returning figures of 1 for 69 in nine overs. However, he was MI Cape Town’s leading lights in their victorious SA20 campaign.
Along with opener Tony de Zorzi, Bosch and Maphaka will travel to Karachi on Sunday to play the rest of the tri-nation ODI series against Pakistan and New Zealand.
Yasir Arafat, a former all-rounder for Pakistan, has joined the South Africa men’s support team as a consultant for the Champions Trophy and the tri-nation series.
