at the opening match against England, which was also played at Nagpur, Jasiwal made his ODI debut in lieu of Virat Kohli, who was sidelined due to a knee ailment. Jaiswal scored 15 from 22 balls while opening the batting with Rohit Sharma before being caught behind by Jofra Archer.
Jaiswal had already participated in a Ranji match against Jammu & Kashmir, which they lost at home, before to joining the India team. In addition, Rohit Sharma made his Ranji Trophy comeback in that match.
