Sneh Rana to play for RCB as Shreyanka Patil’s replacement, with the latter now being ruled out of the tournament.
Sneh Rana replaces injured Shreyanka Patil at RCB.
Due to injury, offspinner Shreyanka Patil of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will not play in the 2025 World Premier League. She has been replaced in the squad by Sneh Rana, a spin-bowling all-rounder. Patil’s injury’s specifics remain unknown.
When Beth Mooney was injured after the first game of the first season, Rana, who had previously played for the Gujarat Giants (GG), captained the squad. Unexpectedly, Rana didn’t sell at the December auction. She now pays INR 30 lakh to join RCB. She played for the Giants in the WPL twelve times, taking six wickets at an economy rate of 9.02.
She also captained India C in the senior women’s one-day Challenger Trophy last month, taking nine wickets in five games to rank third in the competition.
In 52 white-ball matches for India, Rana has also taken 53 wickets. She participated in the one-off Test match against South Africa in Chennai in June of last year, but she is not currently part of India’s limited-overs cricket strategy.
With 13 wickets in eight games and an economy of 7.30, Patil finished the tournament as the best wicket-taker. He was one of the most impressive players for RCB throughout their championship run last year. She has participated in 15 RCB games overall and claimed 19 wickets.
Prior to the season, RCB has lost important players like Sophie Molineux (injured), Kate Cross, Asha Sobhana, and Sophie Devine (unavailable). But they started the WPL with a thrilling six-wicket victory over the Giants on Friday in Vadodara.
