Eden Gardens the venue for the IPL Finals with Qualifier 1 and the Eliminator will be played in Hyderabad, and Qualifier 2 in Kolkata.
Eden Gardens, the home ground of IPL 2024 champions Kolkata Knight Riders, will host both the tournament opener of IPL 2025 on March 22 and the final on May 25. It will also host Qualifier 2 on May 23.
With Eden Gardens hosting the 2013 and 2015 championship matches, this will be Kolkata’s first final in ten years.
The 2024 runners-up Sunrisers Hyderabad will play their home games in Hyderabad for the other two playoffs: the Eliminator on May 21 and Qualifier 1 on May 20.
There will be 12 doubleheaders and 74 matches over 65 days in the 2025 Indian Premier League. In the first match of the competition, KKR will play Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the evening. Following that, on Sunday, March 23, there will be a doubleheader between the two five-time champions, with SRH hosting the Rajasthan Royals and the Chennai Super Kings hosting the Mumbai Indians in the IPL’s most renowned rivalry.
The schedule lists 13 locations, including the main home bases of all 10 teams, Guwahati (the second home venue for the Royals), Visakhapatnam (the second home venue for the Capitals), and Dharamsala (the second home site for Punjab). Dharamsala will host three matches, while Guwahati and Vizag will host two each.
Although Punjab typically plays two games at the beautiful HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala each season, the IPL has added a match there this year, and the opponents are the Capitals, Mumbai, and LSG. As these three games are scheduled for May 4–11, Punjab will be the only team to play three consecutive home games.
The teams have been divided into two groups, with KKR, RCB, Royals, CSK, and Punjab in one group and SRH, Capitals, Titans, Mumbai, and LSG in the other, as has been the case each season since the IPL’s expansion to 10 teams in 2022. Teams will play each other twice, one against the other four teams in the opposite group, and one against the other team, which is decided by seeding.
For example, despite not being in the same group, CSK and Mumbai will meet twice.Following their match on March 23, these two teams will play again on Sunday, April 20, when Mumbai hosts the Super Kings at the Wankhede Stadium. Only in April will the four teams—RCB, Mumbai, Punjab, and LSG—play their first home games after playing their opening games away.
After winning just one of their first eight games, RCB orchestrated a stunning comeback to form to qualify for the playoffs last year with six straight victories. They will conclude their regular season with a string of home games, with four of their final six games taking place at M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
