Rest of PSL indefinitely suspended after UAE rejects offer to host the remaining portion of the T20 tournament.
Rest of PSL postponed indefinitely amid India-Pakistan tensions.
PSL 2025’s remaining dates have been indefinitely postponed. The PCB stated that it had taken action on the recommendation of Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif and attributed the decision to the “worsening of the situation” at the Pakistan-India border.
The board claimed that when making the decision, it took into account its “sincere regard for the mental well-being of participating players and the sentiments of our foreign players, and we respect the concerns of their families who want to see them back home.”
Less than a day had passed since the PCB said that the next eight PSL games will take place in the United Arab Emirates. The announcement did not include any details regarding the dates or locations, and it was anticipated that the games would resume in approximately a week.
The remaining visas were applied for over the weekend, and Pakistani and international players who currently had UAE visas were expected to depart on Friday night. That has since changed, though, and the teams have started to disband with immediate effect, with arrangements made for international players to return home.
The dates of the following games have not yet been announced. The postponement occurred just hours after the IPL was momentarily halted due to tensions between the two nations.
“The PCB recognises the efforts and support of its partners, franchises, participating players, broadcasters, sponsors, and organisers in having ensured the smooth conduct of the tournament thus far, however; cricket while being a unifying force and a source of joy, must take a respectful pause…” the PCB statement said.
