Raúl Asencio could face trial over explicit video furore which also involves three former Madrid youth players.
Three former Real Madrid youth players and defender Raúl Asencio may go to trial for allegedly shooting and disseminating a pornographic video that has caused two women, including a juvenile, to suffer from PTSD symptoms.
A judge on Gran Canaria stated in a statement issued on Wednesday that he had finished his preliminary inquiry into the distribution and recording of the incident, which is supposed to have occurred on June 15, 2023, in a private section of a beach club on the island.
Prosecutors were provided the file “regarding the four footballers allegedly implicated in the filming and distribution of videos of a sexual nature involving a female minor and another young woman,” the judge continued, adding that a summary criminal case had been formed.
“As a result of the experience they have been through, the accused victims, who were 16 and 18 at the time, are currently experiencing post-traumatic symptoms,” he said.
The judge said the alleged offences included “sharing secrets without consent and violating privacy, distributing and sending videos to third parties without the consent of the women involved, the use of minors for pornographic purposes, and possession of child pornography”.
Asencio and his former colleagues Andrés García, Ferrán Ruiz, and Juan Rodríguez have been identified in Spanish media as the men allegedly involved, however the court statement did not specify which player is accused of which offence.
According to police, the case started after a 16-year-old girl’s mother in the Canary Islands complained about a purported recording of her having sex.
They stated that although the girl insisted the relationship was consensual, she had only lately learnt that the recording had been made without her permission.
