Need to give everything in the Europa final, says Maguire ahead of huge day for Manchester United in Bilbao.
Man United need to “give absolutely everything” in Wednesday’s final, says Maguire.
The Champions League spot for the upcoming season is the big bonus for the Red Devils as they play fellow Premier League stragglers Tottenham in Bilbao.
It is a unique chance for both teams to turn around their pathetic domestic seasons, which have left Spurs in 17th place and United in 16th.
As the season draws to a close, Maguire asserts that United must perform to their full capacity, which hasn’t always been the case this year, in order to win a sixth European trophy.
He acknowledges that United’s league season has been “nowhere near good enough” and that they have disappointed fans “far too much.”
A Spurs team whose own shortcomings have also been blatantly obvious is in their way.
“They’ve suffered as well as us this season,” said Maguire.
“They’ve had a lot of injuries like us, have not been able to find that rhythm and concentrated on the Europa League as well.
“But we believe in ourselves. We have got to make sure we put the percentages in our favour in terms of turning up, giving absolutely everything and performing on the day.”
