Man Utd fly to Malaysia for their two-match trip to Asia.
The 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday does not mean that Manchester United’s season is gone.
They were flying to Malaysia for their two-match Asian tour, which ends on Friday with a meeting against the Hong Kong national team, as soon as their last Premier League fixture at Old Trafford was over.
32 players, including winger Alejandro Garnacho, experienced midfielder Casemiro, and captain Bruno Fernandes, have been selected by manager Ruben Amorim for the trip.
The 20-year-old Argentina international Garnacho was reportedly told he could find a new club this summer after being left out of the matchday squad against Villa on Sunday.
Manchester United’s season is still alive despite their 2-0 victory over Aston Villa on Sunday.
After their final Premier League game at Old Trafford, they were on their way to Malaysia for their two-match Asian tour, which concludes on Friday with a match against the Hong Kong national team.
Manager Ruben Amorim has chosen 32 players for the trip, including captain Bruno Fernandes, winger Alejandro Garnacho, and seasoned midfielder Casemiro.
After being left out of the matchday squad against Villa on Sunday, the 20-year-old Argentina international Garnacho was reportedly told he might find a new club this summer.
Most of the first team has travelled, including Joshua Zirkzee, a Netherlands international who recently returned from a lengthy layoff due to a hamstring injury, and defender Matthijs de Ligt, who hasn’t played since May 4 due to injury.
Among them are veteran defender Jonny Evans, 37, who is departing the team at the end of the season, and Andre Onana and Luke Shaw, who did not play in Sunday’s match.
Christian Eriksen and Victor Lindelof have also announced their departures, but they have not cited “personal reasons” for their trips.
Due to injuries, Noussair Mazraoui and Leny Yoro are also unable to travel, as is Argentina defender Lisandro Martinez, who sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury in February.
