Rayan Cherki, who recently joined Manchester City, is excited about the opportunity to exact revenge on rival Manchester United for his Europa League suffering.
After surrendering a 4-2 lead in extra time, the Frenchman and his previous team Lyon endured a heartbreaking quarterfinal loss at Old Trafford in April.
United scored three goals, including twice in the last minute, to win the match 5-4 on the night and 7-6 overall in a thrilling conclusion to their second-leg match.
Moving forward Videos of Cherki celebrating his spectacular effort at United by grabbing his crotch in front of the home crowd surfaced after he scored in both legs of the match.
The 21-year-old, who paid £30.45 million to join City from Lyon, laughed when questioned about the incident but acknowledged that once the new season begins, he will have United in his sights once more.
“I [didn’t] like [it] when Manchester United won the game against Lyon because I am a Lyonnais,” said Cherki. “Now I am waiting for the game [to] kill them.
“I’m here to win all the games.”
