Martin Ho signs three-year contract to become Tottenham’s head coach.
After resigning from his position as assistant coach at Manchester United women in July 2023, the 35-year-old has been leading the Norwegian club Brann’s women’s squad for the past two years.
Robert Vilahamn, who was fired by Spurs in June after the team finished second from last in the WSL, has been replaced by Ho.
After finishing in second place the previous season, he puts Brann in second place in the Norwegian top flight halfway through the 2025 campaign. He led Brann to the quarterfinals of the 2023–24 Women’s Champions League, where they lost to eventual winners Barcelona—the farthest a Norwegian team has advanced in the competition.
Ho had been at United for three and a half years. In the second half of the 2019–20 season, he worked with the under-21 team under Charlotte Healy, who is now the head coach of Bristol City. In July 2020, Ho advanced to become Casey Stoney’s first team assistant. Two years later, when Marc Skinner took Stoney’s position as head coach in 2021, he served as Skinner’s number two, helping the team place second in the WSL in 2023.
Ho, who was born and reared in Mossley Hill, Liverpool, had stints as assistant manager at Everton and head coach of the Liverpool under-21 women’s team.
Spurs are said to have been pleased by Ho’s drive, his history of developing players, and his performance with Brann in the Women’s Champions League. According to sources, the club got a lot of positive references for Ho from all around the world.
