Nepal to host 2026 Women’s T20 World Cup Qualifier.
The Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 Qualifier will take place in Nepal from January 12 to February 2 of the following year. The Lower Mulpani Cricket Stadium and the Upper Mulpani Cricket Stadium in Mulpani, Kathmandu, will host the games. Later on, the tournament’s complete schedule will be revealed.
The competition, which will take place in England and Wales in June and July, will include ten teams vying for four spots in the actual World Cup. As of right now, just five teams have been confirmed to compete in the qualifier.
Thailand and hosts Nepal have advanced via the Asia qualifiers, while the USA has advanced from the Americas, while Bangladesh and Ireland have already secured their spots in the qualification after competing in the 2024 T20 World Cup.
Two teams each from Africa and Europe, as well as one from the East Asia-Pacific area, will complete the remaining five spots, which will be determined by the other regional qualifiers.
The 10 teams will be split into two groups of five each for the T20 World Cup qualifier. Prior to the final, the top six teams advance to the Super Six stage.
Ten teams competed in the 2024 T20 World Cup; for the first time in the tournament’s history, 12 teams will be competing in the 2026 edition. After defeating South Africa in the previous year’s final, New Zealand is the reigning champion.
