Sadaf Shamas injured and out of the Ireland series, with batsman Shawaal Zulfiqar set to replace her in the series.
After damaging her left quadriceps muscle during a Karachi practice, Sadaf Shamas will not play in Pakistan’s Twenty20 International series against Ireland. She will be replaced in the squad by Shawaal Zulfiqar, the opening batsman.
Twenty-four players participated in the skills camp in Karachi last month, including Zulfiqar, who has played three ODIs and seven T20Is. On August 3, she will join the team travelling to Ireland.
Zulfiqar was sidelined due to a shoulder injury following her final Twenty20 International in December 2023. She returned to action at the Women’s ODI World Cup qualifier in Lahore earlier this year. She scored eight runs in two games.
Fatima Sana will captain the 15-man team, which also includes Eyman Fatima, a 20-year-old batswoman who won a prize for winning the National T20 event.
On August 6, the series versus Ireland begins. Belfast will host all three Twenty20 International matches.
