India unchanged as Australia make two changes in decider as India look to win first bilateral series vs Australia.
Australia bring in Harris and Garth and ask unchanged India to field in decider.
In the women’s ODI series final in Delhi on Saturday, Australia skipper Alyssa Healy made the correct decision once more and chose to bat against India, who are wearing pink jerseys to raise awareness about breast cancer.
With the women’s ODI World Cup just days away, Healy planned to ‘let them [India] run around in the heat’ after bowling first twice to acclimatise to subcontinental conditions. He made two changes to the XI that lost to India in India for the first time since 2007. Kim Garth replaced fellow fast Darcie Brown, and Grace Harris was added in lieu of Annabel Sutherland in an effort to give more players opportunity.
India entered the match unaltered after handing Australia their largest defeat margin in ODI cricket in the second game. With Jemimah Rodrigues out of the series, Deepti Sharma will continue to bat at number five, giving India up to six front-line bowling options. With the series still up in the air, India’s 102-run victory in New Chandigarh was only their second victory against the reigning ODI world champions. They had never triumphed in a bilateral ODI series against Australia.
