Litton Das likely to miss Afghanistan series.
Litton Kumar Das, a batsman and wicketkeeper for Bangladesh, will miss the forthcoming white-ball series against Afghanistan because of a back injury.
Litton, who has been playing well, will require at least three weeks to recuperate, according to team sources. He was already unable to play in the Asia Cup’s Super Four matches against India and Pakistan due to the injury. Bangladesh did not make it to the final after losing both games.
“I think he will need at least three weeks to recover so chances are slim of seeing him (Litton) during the series against Afghanistan,” an official working closely with the national team confirmed.
On September 22, Litton suffered the back strain while training at the ICC Academy Ground. While trying to make a square cut in the nets, he experienced pain on the left side of his waist. He was pulled from the workout and eventually disqualified from the competition after being evaluated by team physio Bayzid ul Islam.
Given his recent batting form, Jaker Ali is anticipated to stay with the team unless the selectors decide to make a change. He led the team in the matches against India and Pakistan.
The team for the T20Is and ODIs against Afghanistan has not yet been announced by the Bangladesh Cricket Board. On September 29, the team is anticipated to start training again.
