
Cricket West Indies (CWI) has announced its International Retainer Contracts for the 2025/26 season, effective from October 1. The contracts aim to reward consistent performers, provide financial security, and strengthen the West Indies’ cricket structure ahead of major international tournaments.
For the senior men’s team, top players awarded contracts include Alzarri Joseph, Shai Hope, Rovman Powell, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Brandon King, Akeal Hosein, Shamar Joseph, Gudakesh Motie, Sherfane Rutherford, Jayden Seales, Romario Shepherd, and Jomel Warrican. These players form the core group expected to lead West Indies in Tests, ODIs, and T20Is.
Emerging talents have been offered starter contracts to encourage development and transition into the senior setup. Players in this category include Jewel Andrew, Jediah Blades, and Johann Layne. In addition, CWI’s Men’s Academy has retained promising prospects such as Ackeem Auguste, Ryan Bandoo, Rivaldo Clarke, Giovonte Depeiza, Nathan Edward, Damel Evelyn, Amari Goodridge, Mbeki Joseph, Zishan Motara, Kelvin Pittman, Renico Smith, and Carlon Tuckett, providing structured pathways for upcoming talent.
On the women’s side, senior contracts have been awarded to leading players including Stafanie Taylor, Deandra Dottin, Afy Fletcher, Hayley Matthews, Shemaine Campbelle, Chinelle Henry, Shawnisha Hector, Qiana Joseph, Zaida James, Ashmini Munisar, Karishma Ramharack, Jannillea Glasgow, and Aaliyah Alleyne. These contracts recognize their contributions and aim to sustain competitiveness in international cricket.
Emerging female cricketers have also been offered starter contracts, with Jahzara Claxton and Realeanna Grimmond receiving recognition. The Women’s Academy retains the same players, ensuring continuity in nurturing talent and providing experience through structured training programs and exposure to competitive cricket.
CWI’s Director of Cricket emphasized that the contracts are designed to balance rewarding current performance with fostering long-term potential. Multi-year agreements are intended to provide stability and clarity for players while supporting team development plans and succession strategies.
