
Dinesh Karthik to rock up for Hong Kong Super Sixes as he is set to lead India in the six-a-side tournament.
The Hong Kong Sixes have signed Dinesh Karthik. Karthik (40) recently agreed to play for Sharjah Warriorz in the ILT20, joining former India and Tamil Nadu teammate R Aswhin, who had previously stated that he will be playing in the six-a-side competition. Karthik will captain the Indian squad, according to the organisers, Cricket Hong Kong, China.
“It is an absolute honour leading Team India at the Hong Kong Sixes, a tournament with such rich history and global recognition. I look forward to leading a group of players who have such incredible records to their credit, and together we will aim to bring joy to the fans and play cricket that is both fearless and entertaining,” Karthik said. The tournament will be held from November 7 to 9.

His leadership and wealth of experience will add immense value to the competition, and we are confident that his presence will attract fans from across the globe to witness this spectacular cricketing festival,” Burji Shroff, chairperson of Cricket Hong Kong China, said.
The three-day competition will feature 12 teams from South Africa, Afghanistan, Nepal, Australia, England, the United Arab Emirates, India, Pakistan, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Hong Kong, China. As anticipated, India and Pakistan have been placed in the same group (Group C) out of the four groups into which the teams have been split.
Each group’s top two teams advance to the quarterfinals. The Cup semifinals will be played by the quarterfinal winners, and the Plate semifinals will be played by the losers. Each group’s bottom team will participate in the Bowl tournament. Over the course of three days, the competition will feature 29 games.
Each side will consist of six players, and each match will consist of six overs. With the exception of the wicketkeeper, who bowls two overs, each bowler will bowl one over. The competition will be televised by Sony Sports.
