Semenyo shines as Bournemouth go second in the table with win over Fulham on the back of his two goals and an assist.
Semenyo double downs Fulham and sends buoyant Bournemouth second.
Marco Silva’s team was teasing Andoni Iraola at Bournemouth, where Fulham had suffered defeats in their previous three trips. After suffering through the wind and rain, Ryan Sessegnon’s skilfully constructed goal gave them the lead. Samuel Chukwueze combined with Sessegnon very immediately after his arrival in a fierce struggle of a match, and Silva’s substitutions had flipped the game in Fulham’s favour.
Presenting Antoine Semenyo, one of the Premier League’s top players thus far this season. Bernd Leno scored from the smallest of angles after being confused by his slaloming run down the byline and drop of the shoulder. The Ghanaian then smashed home a stunning long-range goal, sending Justin Kluivert flying. A sweet home victory was capped by Semenyo’s injury-time second from a signature warp-speed counter provided by fellow substitute, Ben Gannon-Doak.
Only Liverpool was higher in the table than Bournemouth, which rose to second place. Iraola’s superior in-game management, deeper resource depth, and a game-winning goal from Semenyo stopped Fulham just as they were about to achieve their fourth consecutive victory.
“He is incredible,” said Kluivert, no slouch himself, of Semenyo. “He shows it every game now. He is just world class.”
Iraola said: “He has been improving every season, every season he has got better. I make him not look too much at the numbers. If we are playing well collectively, the numbers will arrive.”
Iraola’s team is now stronger even though the elite stripped the club of its assets from the previous season. His transformations while pursuing the game served as evidence. “Even though we lost a few key players, we have bonded well since the season began,” Semenyo stated. “It’s been a fantastic beginning and a wonderful atmosphere to be a part of.”
