Rick Passmoor appointed as new Leicester City women’s head coach on what is reported to be a three-year contract.
The women’s squad of Leicester City has named Rick Passmoor, a former interim manager, as their new head coach for a three-year term.
Shortly before the season began, the Foxes fired Amandine Miquel, and he took over in early September.
Leicester is currently ranked 10th in the Women’s Super League standings after earning four points from their first five games this season.
“I am very privileged and very honoured to be at this club,” Passmoor told the club’s website. “I want to ensure we continue to progress and further establish ourselves in the WSL.
“There’s history on the men’s side, and we want to make sure we leave a legacy with Leicester Women.”
On Friday afternoon, Passmoor’s appointment as permanent manager was confirmed, with a contract that runs through 2028.
Passmoor stated his objective to strengthen Leicester’s offensive during his press conference prior to the team’s league game against Aston Villa on Sunday, October 12 (12:00 BST). During his tenure, Leicester has only managed three WSL goals.
“We are completely changing the philosophy, it will take time,” he added. “We are against teams who have had the same managers for two or three years.
“We want to be comfortable in possession, relaxed and composed to create opportunities.”
Passmoor worked as West Ham’s assistant manager under manager Rehanne Skinner before to joining Leicester.
The former Leeds United and Notts County manager took over for Miquel, who was fired ten days prior to the 2025–26 WSL season.
With 20 points from 22 games, the 41-year-old Frenchwoman Miquel guided Leicester to a 10th-place finish last season, 10 points ahead of relegated Crystal Palace.
