ILT20: MI Emirates sign Pooran and Pollard as wildcards.
Nicholas Pooran and Kieron Pollard are MI Emirates’ wildcards for the forthcoming ILT20 season in the United Arab Emirates. After winning the MLC (MI New York) and CPL (Trinbago Knight Riders) together earlier this year, Pooran and Pollard will team up again.
In the SA20, which crosses over into the ILT20, Pooran is also a member of MI Cape Town. Despite his unexpected choice to quit from international cricket at the age of 29, Pooran, now 30, is still in high demand in franchise leagues all over the world.
Six teams will compete in a total of 34 games during the ILT20’s fourth season, which will take place in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Sharjah from December 2 to January 4.
Ackeem Auguste, another auction pick, Romario Shepherd, who was selected prior to the auction, and Andre Fletcher, who received the highest bid of USD 260,000 at the first ILT20 auction in October, are already on the MI Emirates team. Pooran and Pollard add more Caribbean flavour to this team.
