Udogie rumored to be player held at gunpoint by agent after alleged incident on London street on Saturday.
The Premier League player Destiny Udogie has been identified as the person who allegedly received a gunpoint threat from an agent on a street in north London. The alleged assault happened on Saturday, September 6, while the Tottenham defender was out with a buddy.
The agent was arrested on charges of brandishing the weapon with the intention of inciting violence after police were summoned. Additionally, the suspect was under investigation for allegedly threatening and blackmailing Udogie’s acquaintance. No charges have been brought against him. The agent in question is not implied to be Udogie’s agent.
During the September international break, while Udogie was not playing for Italy, the alleged incident took place. He hasn’t missed a match and returned to duty for Spurs in their following match, a league victory against West Ham on September 13, when he entered the game as a substitute.
A Spurs spokesperson said: “We have been providing support for Destiny and his family since the incident and will continue to do so. Given this is a legal matter, we cannot comment any further.”
