“It’s great that Kyle is already with us here in India,” Walter said. “He’s an integral member of our pace-bowling group and has hit the ground running on this tour. He’s a hard-worker with a good set of skills and experiences that will hold him good stead for the tournament.”
Earlier this month, Jamieson, who made a comeback to international cricket late last year following a back ailment, grabbed a career-best 4 for 41 in the opening ODI against India.
Matt Henry and Lockie Ferguson may take short paternity leaves during the T20 World Cup, according to a prior announcement from New Zealand.
The New Zealand team will add another travelling reserve before the competition, which starts on February 8 in Chennai against Afghanistan. After the current T20I series against India, which has four games left, they will play the USA in a warm-up match on February 6 in Mumbai.
