Dorgu faces a long spell out on the sidelines following hamstring issue in what is a massive blow for Carrick.
Manchester United fears that Patrick Dorgu’s muscle injury from Sunday’s 3-2 victory at Arsenal could keep him out for a long time, which would be devastating for Michael Carrick’s rebounding team. Tests are still being conducted to establish the diagnosis, but there are worries that Dane may miss more than two months due to a hamstring issue.
Dorgu, who scored in Carrick’s first two games, has been a major contributor to United’s comeback. Following a similarly significant goal in United’s 2-0 triumph over Manchester City the week before, he scored against Arsenal. Additionally, he scored the game-winning goal in the 1-0 Boxing Day triumph over Newcastle.
Kader Meïté of Rennes is one of the names being watched if United decides to enter the transfer market to replace Dorgu. The 18-year-old striker, who has scored three goals in Ligue 1 this season and was called up for France’s Under-21 team last year, is also of interest to the Saudi Arabian team Al Hilal. Meïté’s representatives are reportedly in communication with United, but they have not yet decided whether to increase their interest in signing a winger or No. 9.
The 1958 will hold its most recent demonstration against the club’s ownership prior to United’s Sunday matchup with Fulham. Sunday’s action will also target Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the CEO of the chemicals company Ineos and United’s biggest minority owner, after they previously targeted the Glazer family, who have owned the majority of the company for almost 21 years.
