[Saba Sprots News] Anthony Davis may have set an overly ambitious goal for the 2023-24 season, revealing his intention to play all 82 games and be available for his Lakers teammates during a recent conversation with reporters.
While it’s admirable to aim for such availability every season, it may not be entirely realistic for Davis, given his history of injuries.
Throughout his career, he has played a maximum of 75 games, achieved twice during his time with the New Orleans Pelicans in the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons.
During his Lakers tenure, his best performance was 62 games played, with an average of 48 over the last two seasons. With Davis set to turn 31 during the upcoming season, the odds of reaching the 82-game mark appear slim.
Nevertheless, Davis has made a significant request of the Lakers, which could increase his chances of getting closer to that goal.
