Australia Women fined for slow-over-rate in the second Women’s ODI against India which was held in Mullanpur.
In Wednesday’s (September 17) second ODI between Australia and India at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, Australia women were fined 10% of their match fee for sustaining a slow over pace.
When all available time allowances were taken into account, Australia was judged guilty of being two overs short at a target time. Alyssa Healy admitted to the crime.
According to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Staff, players who fail to bowl in the designated time for each over will be penalised 5% of their match fee. The accusation was made by third umpire Lauren Agenbag, fourth umpire Gayathri Venugopalan, and on-field umpires Vrinda Rathi and Janani Narayanan.
India won by a total of 102 runs in the second ODI. Before the hosts bowled Australia out for 190 to tie the three-match series 1-1, Smriti Mandhana’s century lead India’s batting. The Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi will host the final on Saturday, September 20.
