Besiktas terminate Alex Oxlade-Chamberlian’s contract, paying the £1.5m under the terms of the termination.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, a former midfielder for Liverpool and Arsenal, has voluntarily decided to end his contract with Besiktas, a Turkish team.
The 32-year-old had one year remaining on his current contract when he joined Besiktas on a free transfer after being released by Liverpool in August 2023.
Under the conditions of the termination, Besiktas, which is led by former Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, stated that they had agreed to compensate Oxlade-Chamberlain with 1.75 million euros (£1.5 million).
Despite having 35 matches for England, Oxlade-Chamberlain last played for his nation in 2019. He won the Turkish Cup in 2024 and scored five goals in 50 games for Besiktas.
Despite being hindered by injuries at Anfield, the former Southampton player assisted Liverpool in winning the Premier League title in 2020.
After arriving from Arsenal for £35 million in 2017, he played 146 games and scored 18 goals during his tenure, although he had two significant knee injuries.
