Bharat Arun to be appointed as LSG bowling coach and will replace Zaheer Khan, who served as LSG’s mentor in IPL 2025.
Before the 2026 Indian Premier League, Bharat Arun will take over as bowling coach of the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG). Arun’s four years as a bowling consultant for the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are coming to an end with his new position.
In the LSG setup, Arun is probably going to play a bigger part. He will be in charge of scouting and managing the year-round growth of their young quicks.
Carl Crowe will also join LSG as a spin consultant. During his tenure at KKR, Crowe is noted for having assisted Varun Chakravarthy and Sunil Narine in reinventing their bowling styles. LSG is probably going to release an official statement shortly.
Former India bowler Zaheer Khan, who was the squad coach at IPL 2025, previously oversaw Arun’s duties. LSG failed to make the playoffs and finished seventh.
Arun’s first contract with KKR was for three years, but he was given the opportunity to extend it for an additional season, which lasted until the end of the 2025 Indian Premier League, where KKR ended in eighth place.
Arun’s departure is a component of KKR’s larger support staff restructure. The squad made the announcement that head coach Chandrakant Pandit has decided to leave on Tuesday. Arun’s departure was not formally announced at the time.
With two successful periods with the Indian squad, from 2014–2015 and most recently from 2017–2021, Arun has a strong body of work to his credit. Between 2015 and 2017, he was also a member of the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) backroom.
