Brian Priske in talks with Scottish giants Rangers to become their next head coach after leaving Feyenoord in February.
After speaking with the Scottish Premiership team, Brian Priske, a former manager of Feyenoord, is a candidate to become Rangers’ next manager.
As the Ibrox management looks for a long-term replacement for Philippe Clement, who was fired in February, the 48-year-old has spoken with them.
Priske is one of several applicants being considered for the role, and no decision has been made as of yet following the announcement that interim manager Barry Ferguson will be leaving.
Former Ibrox defender Russell Martin and former manager Steven Gerrard, who won the title in 2021, have both been connected to the position, as has Davide Ancelotti, the son of current Brazil head coach Carlo.
Last week, Rangers chief executive Patrick Stewart said the search is “progressing well, and we look forward to concluding our process in the coming period”.
Priske, who left Feyenoord in February after winning 17 of his 33 games as manager before Robin Van Persie took his place, is available.
He arrived from Sparta Prague in June 2024, and in November, he rallied from a 3-0 deficit with 16 minutes remaining to draw 3-3 at Manchester City in the Champions League.
In January, Feyenoord defeated Bayern Munich 3-0 in the league stage to end in eleventh place; nevertheless, Priske quit a few weeks later, citing “inconsistent results and a lack of chemistry” as the reason.
The former Denmark defender has made 24 appearances for his nation and managed Royal Antwerp in Belgium and Midtjylland in his native country.
