Charlotte Healy, formerly assistant coach at Manchester United women appointed as new Bristol City head coach.
This week, Charlotte Healy, the assistant manager of Manchester United, will step down to become the head coach of Bristol City.
Since joining United in 2019 as manager of the under-21 team, Healy has served as Marc Skinner’s first team assistant.
She was instrumental in the team’s accomplishments, helping them qualify for the Champions League and win their first major prize with the Women’s FA Cup.
After one season in WSL 2, where the team ended in sixth position after being relegated from the top division, Stephen Kirby resigned on May 13th, leaving Bristol City without a permanent manager.
Healy, who has had several positions in youth and first-team women’s football at Manchester City, Liverpool, and United, is taking the next step by becoming a head coach.
Alongside manager Carla Ward and interim Liverpool manager Amber Whiteley, she briefly joined the Republic of Ireland squad this week to assist in their preparation for two friendly matches against the USA.
