
Chelsea issue safety warnings for fans after two fans were hospitalised for ‘non-life-threatening injuries’.
Chelsea has advised supporters to exercise “extreme caution” in Naples following the hospitalisation of two fans prior to their Champions League match in the Italian city.
The competition’s last round of group matches will take place on Wednesday night at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium between Napoli and Chelsea.
“The club is aware of an incident that took place on Tuesday evening in Naples,” Chelsea posted on their X account. “Two fans are being treated in hospital, having sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
“The club would like to remind all supporters to exercise extreme caution whilst in the city and take note of the advice shared ahead of this fixture.”
On social media, Chelsea supporters alleged that knives had been drawn on them; one post claimed that a supporter had been stabbed by some Napoli ultras.
Chelsea wants to finish in the top eight of the Champions League league phase in order to guarantee a spot in the round of sixteen.
