[Saba Sports News] Hard-hitting all-rounder Chloe Tryon is back in South Africa’s squad for the upcoming three-match ODI home series and five T20Is against New Zealand. The series begins on September 24, with Laura Wolvaardt continuing as interim captain. A 16-player squad has been named for both series.
The ODI series, part of the ICC Women’s Championship 2022-25, will be held in Potchefstroom, Pietermaritzburg, and Durban. It will follow a warm-up match between New Zealand XI and South Africa XI at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.
South Africa hasn’t made any changes to the squad despite their recent whitewash in Pakistan’s maiden T20I series. Clinton du Preez, Proteas Women Convenor of Selectors, emphasized squad consistency and welcomed Chloe Tryon back, expecting her all-round skills to benefit the team.
Enoch Nkwe, CSA Director of Cricket, expressed pride in the team’s progress in Pakistan and anticipation for the home series against New Zealand. The T20I series will take place from October 6-15, with the first three matches in East London and the final two in Benoni.
