Chris Gayle, the legendary West Indies cricketer, is set to play for Gujarat Greats in the ongoing Legends League Cricket (LLC) 2024.
He arrived in Jodhpur on Tuesday, September 25, and was greeted with a hero’s welcome at the team hotel.
As Gayle stepped out of a luxurious white car, Dwayne Bravo’s “Champion” played in the background, and fans cheered as he received flower bouquets and posed for photos with the hotel staff.
Gayle’s addition will significantly boost Gujarat’s batting lineup, adding even more firepower to a team led by Shikhar Dhawan.
Gujarat began their campaign with a commanding eight-wicket win against Toyam Hyderabad but suffered a 26-run defeat in their second game against Southern Superstars.
They’ll have a chance to redeem themselves when they face the Superstars again on Thursday, September 26, at Jodhpur’s Barkatullah Khan Stadium. If fit, Gayle is expected to slot into the playing XI, further strengthening Gujarat’s batting lineup.
