[Saba Sports News] The BWF World Tour Finals
2023, the annual pinnacle event of badminton, is set to kick off in
mid-December in Hangzhou, China. This prestigious tournament will gather top
players from around the world, with a total of 63 world-class athletes
participating. Recently, Danish badminton star Anders Antonsen shared an update
on his social media platform. He visited the Southeast Asian country of
Malaysia to meet his good friend Lee Zii Jia, who is currently the top-ranked
Malaysian badminton player. Antonsen intends to train and prepare for the 2023
BWF World Tour Finals during his visit. According to Antonsen, the reason he
chose not to return to Denmark is mainly due to the harsh weather there, with
temperatures dropping as low as minus 6 degrees Celsius, making training in
such conditions uncomfortable. As the pinnacle event of the BWF World Tour and
the year-end showdown in the world of badminton, the World Tour Finals offers
increased prize money. The total prize money for this edition has reached a
record high of $2.5 million, making it one of the highest-paying badminton
tournaments in recent years.
