Dejan Kulusevski sidelined after undergoing knee surgery after Spurs lose out on Eberechi Eze to Arsenal earlier.
More woe for Spurs as Dejan Kulusevski is likely to be out until turn of the year.
It is anticipated that Dejan Kulusevski will be sidelined till the beginning of the year. The attacking midfielder for Tottenham had knee surgery in the middle of May, and while the injury was severe, it is still unknown how long he will be out of commission.
Thomas Frank, who is still coming to terms with the club being outbid by Arsenal for Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze, who scored 10 goals and dishevelled 11 assists in 50 games for Spurs last season, is also upset over losing the Sweden international. After rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament against Newcastle during the preseason, James Maddison, the manager’s other important attacking midfield player, will be out for some time.
After failing to recruit Nottingham Forest’s Morgan Gibbs-White earlier in the summer, Spurs are under pressure to make a splash by signing Eze. After they moved on a £60 million buyout provision in the midfielder’s contract, they believed they had him, but Evangelos Marinakis, the owner of the Forest, rejected the proposal.
Savinho, a winger for Manchester City, has drawn interest from Spurs, but City insists they want to keep the Brazilian. On Saturday lunchtime, Spurs will play City. It will be interesting to watch if their opponents change their minds after the game.
Spurs have enquired about Maghnes Akliouche of Monaco. The France Under-21 player, who can play through the middle or on the wing, has improved his reputation following two successful seasons at Monaco. Frank is still interested in Southampton winger Tyler Dibling and is open to signing Yoane Wissa from his old team Brentford. Como’s Nico Paz is another possibility.
Spurs’ transfer window activity has been comparatively calm thus far. Mohammed Kudus, João Paulinha, Luka Vuskovic, and Kota Takai are among the fresh faces they have added.
