Devine atop the Purple Cap standings after 4-fer vs DC as the race for the Orange and Purple Caps heat up.
Devine at No. 1 on WPL 2026 Purple Cap table after match-winning four-for.
At the conclusion of the WPL 2026 game between Gujarat Giants (GG) and Delhi Capitals (DC) in Vadodara on Tuesday, we will have a new Purple Cap holder. Two Mumbai Indians (MI) hitters are at the top of the Orange Cap standings.
Despite taking 1 for 26 against GG in the three-run loss, DC’s Nandani Sharma has been demoted to second place. Sophie Devine, GG’s outstanding all-rounder, has now taken 15 wickets compared to Nandani’s 14 after delivering 4 for 37, earning her Player-of-the-Match.
Devine had taken three or more wickets in the WPL twice this season. She has taken at least one wicket in every game. Nandani’s 5 for 33 early in the competition is still one of two five-wicket hauls this season; Shreyanka Patil of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) holds the other. Nandani has the same record of never going a game without taking at least one wicket.
Following Devine and Nandani are Amelia Kerr of MI and N Shree Charani of DC with 12 wickets, Lauren Bell and Nadine de Klerk of RCB with 11, and Patil with 10.
After scoring his first century of the season—100 not out off 57 balls against RCB—Nat Sciver-Brunt, the Orange Cap champion from the previous season, moved to the top of the run-scorers’ leaderboard. She is presently the only player to surpass 300 runs with 319, followed by teammate Harmanpreet Kaur with 260.
Lizelle Lee of DC has 230, Smriti Mandhana of RCB has 236, and Phoebe Litchfield of UP Warriorz (UPW) has 243.
