DRS to be absent for the remainder of the PSL games this season with the Hawk-eye team not returning to Pakistan.
The Decision Review System (DRS) will not be used for the rest of the Pakistan Super League. Following the league’s resumption, which was halted earlier this month due to border tensions between India and Pakistan, the Hawk-Eye team, which provides the technology, did not return to Pakistan.
Prior to the PSL’s suspension on May 7, DRS was accessible there, as it had been since 2017. Since the restart, the first five games have been played without any problems or disputes. Neither the PCB nor the PSL have yet to publicly address its disappearance. The PCB and PSL have been contacted by media sources.
The variable nature of scheduling amidst the escalating tensions between India and Pakistan faced the PSL with major logistical hurdles. The production team had to stay an additional week, and in order to cut down on travel and camera equipment, a game in Multan had to be moved to Lahore.
The original plan was for the Pakistan-Bangladesh series to start on May 25, which is also the day of the PSL final. The number of games has been reduced from five to three, and its start time has been postponed by three days.
The Eliminator between the Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalandars is scheduled for Thursday at the Gaddafi Stadium. After defeating last year’s winners Islamabad United by 30 runs on Wednesday, the Quetta Gladiators secured their spot in the final for the first time since 2019. Now, United will play the victor of Thursday’s match in hopes of joining the Gladiators in the final on Friday.
