India A will play two first-class matches against England A during their forthcoming trip of England, which will be captained by opener Abhimanyu Easwaran. In addition to Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shardul Thakur, and Karun Nair, Easwaran’s deputy will be wicketkeeper-batter Dhruv Jurel.
Before the second game, Shubman Gill and B Sai Sudharsan will join the team.
Ishan Kishan is the team’s other wicketkeeper-batter in addition to Jurel. Kishan played the first game and Jurel the second for the India A team that participated in two unofficial Test matches in Australia in 2024–25.
There are many fast-bowling possibilities in the team travelling to England. In addition to Thakur, it features all-arounder Nitish Kumar Reddy, Akash Deep, Harshit Rana, Anshul Kamboj, Khaleel Ahmed, Tushar Deshpande, and Mukesh Kumar. Meanwhile, offspinner Tanush Kotian and left-arm spinners Manav Suthar and Harsh Dubey are the spin-bowling alternatives.
The English Meanwhile, Nair, 33, has the opportunity to rejoin the national team in a series. He has been on a scorching run of form in domestic cricket, but the last of his six Test matches was against Australia in 2017. Nair was the second-highest run scorer for Vidarbha, the 2024–25 Ranji Trophy winners, with 863 runs in nine games. In 2023 and 2024, he played county cricket for Northamptonshire, amassing 736 runs at an average of 56.61 in ten games. This comprised two hundred years, including 202* against Glamorgan, and four half-centuries.
First-class matches versus England A commence on May 30 in Canterbury and June 6 in Northampton, respectively.
The India A team will play the senior India team in a four-day match starting on June 13 after playing England A.
