[Saba Sports News] In a recent development, the Manchester Police in
England have discovered a significant case of counterfeiting, involving a large
quantity of counterfeit jerseys. These jerseys were seized in substantial
numbers, and the scale of the operation is astonishing. It has been reported
that these fake jerseys bear the names of football stars from various Premier
League clubs, with Erling Haaland being the most prominent among them. The total
value of the seized counterfeit jerseys is estimated to be over one million
pounds. According to local police sources, these counterfeit jerseys were
intended to be sold on the streets of Manchester and other locations. They are
made from cheaper materials and can be purchased for less than 30 pounds, which
is a fraction of the price of authentic jerseys. Over the years, since the
inception of the Premier League’s anti-counterfeiting project in 2007, cases of
counterfeiting have been consistently uncovered by the police. In fact, a
staggering 2.7 million counterfeit products with a total value of 58 million
pounds have been recovered. The circulation of these counterfeit goods in the
market poses significant risks to the English industry and economy, leading to
immeasurable losses.
